BuildASign Art Print Contest Winners

Thank you to everyone who entered the BuildASign Doode Swap Art Print Contest! The winners have been chosen and it was hard to choose just one. The 1st place winner will receive a 18x24 art print from our sponsor buildasign.com. One of our fellow doodlers told me that he tried buildasign.com after seeing their work with The Doodle Swap Project and he said his prints turned out fabulous on their aluminum material!  Very cool.

1st Place art by Lori W.
Without further ado, here are our winners:

It's all about the Presentation!

I wanted to share these photos of Kristy Talbot's Doodle Swap submissions for swap #7. Kristy designed these awesome little "Doodle Portfolios" for her group! They are cloth, ribbon, and what looks to be like a card-holder sleeve similar to what you get in a new wallet. Kristy's group will have a unique doodle swap holder to hold all the doodles from this round. Great job. Thanks for all the extra effort, Kristy! You can find more information about her doodles in her blog post about doodle swap #7.

You can visit Kristy's blog at applesandink.blogspot.com!

Fun no matter how you slice it!

Doodle Swap 3 was another complete success! Round three consisted of four groups of doodlers for a total of 35 participants, which means our swaps have doubled in size since round one.

There is no wrong way to doodle – which is one of the great thing about it! Some people choose their own theme, some doodle whatever comes to mind, but in the case of two of round three's Doodle Swappers, they were looking at the bigger picture.

Swappers Patti Bachelder and Jim Ferguson each created one large doodle and divided the art into standard 2.5" x 3.5" swap-size pieces. For those who feel bound by the small size, this method is a way to break free from that format and get creative. Every inch of their doodles are packed with interesting detail! Click on the images for a closer look.

Please go by our Flickr group page to be inspired by all the creativity from Doodle Swap participants! It's a truly amazing group of work. Great work everyone and happy doodling!

Doodle Swap draws Inspiration!

After an incredible round 2, I found that the Doodle Swap community has been starting to buzz with more creative juices than ever before! I believe that doodling and more importantly, SHARING those doodles, really inspires. Here are a couple of Doodle Swappers (who have been inspired to keep doodling) sharing their thoughts and drawing beyond the doodle swap!

"Yah, I enjoyed this and now I'm doodling more." - Tim R.

"...those doodle cards have got my creative motor runnin." - Kim O.
